NOURBAKHSH JOINS ROBO GLOBAL ADVISORY BOARD ![DISTINGUISHED CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR ILLAH R. NOURBAKHSH JOINS ROBO GLOBAL ADVISORY BOARD](https://insights.roboglobaletfs.com/hubfs/ILLAH-R.-NOURBAKHSH-wide.jpeg) [ROBO Global](http://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=http%3A%2F%2Froboglobal.com%2F&esheet=51754666&newsitemid=20180207005208&lan=en-US&anchor=ROBO+Global&index=1&md5=2a5f94e3a74b80e600fa36f8f6f7f8ce), the creator of the first benchmark index tracking the global robotics and automation market, has increased the depth and expertise of its advisory board with the addition of Illah R. Nourbakhsh, Professor of Robotics at The Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. **“At ROBO Global, our singular focus on the robotics, automation and artificial intelligence ecosystem is to extract the value of these growing, dynamic sectors for investors”** Nourbakhsh, who is Director of the Community Robotics, Education and Technology Empowerment (CREATE) Lab, has spent more than 20 years exploring human-robot interaction with the aim of creating rich, effective and satisfying interactions between humans and robots. Author of the MIT Press textbook [*Introduction to Autonomous Mobile Robots*](http://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=https%3A%2F%2Fmitpress.mit.edu%2Fbooks%2Fintroduction-autonomous-mobile-robots&esheet=51754666&newsitemid=20180207005208&lan=en-US&anchor=Introduction+to+Autonomous+Mobile+Robots&index=2&md5=d447f0e6ed27c898541d602769023c60), Nourbakhsh’s research has focused specifically on human-robot collaboration, wherein the robotic and human agents in the system share the same unifying goal or utility function. “At ROBO Global, our singular focus on the robotics, automation and artificial intelligence ecosystem is to extract the value of these growing, dynamic sectors for investors,” said Travis Briggs, CEO of ROBO Global. “Dr. Nourbakhsh’s decades of experience within these fields deepens our advisory board’s already unparalleled bench of robotics and automation expertise. His presence will add to the nuanced perspective the advisory board imparts on ROBO Global’s investment methodology, and will undoubtedly translate into more value for investors as we continue to offer direct access to companies at the forefront of the robotics and AI revolution. Dr. Nourbakhsh’s impressive background, extensive research and hands-on involvement in the robotics industry make him a natural fit.” Nourbakhsh joins an already seasoned advisory board, the likes of whom include Henrik Christensen, Ph.D., Director of the UC San Diego Contextual Robotics Institute; Raffaello D’Andrea, Ph.D., co-founder of Kiva Systems, now known as Amazon Robotics; and Ken Goldberg, Ph.D., Chair of the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research Department at UC Berkeley. ROBO Global Indices are licensed in 11 countries and trade on nine exchanges throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia, Canada and Australia. Total AUM for investment products tracking the ROBO indices is over $3.8 billion\* to date.
